Three volume 1969 Gordian Press reprint of the Letters of John Day and Extracts Diary as originally printed -- but not published -- in 1908. Hay served as Secretary of State under Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and William McKinley; he was also an important aide to Abraham Lincoln, and his letters and diary extracts are important historic documents for 19th Century America. All three volumes are in very good condition. Minimal wear to the black cloth boards. Interiors are uniformly clean and unmarked with tight, solid bindings.
