Early printing of Cather's novel that explores one year in the life of a family of colonists in Quebec at the turn of the 18th Century. Not a stated first edition, the book's publication information is curiously listed as "Published August 1931; First and Second Printings before Publication; Third Printing, August, 1931". Copy is in good to very good condition. Minimal wear to the green cloth boards, though there is some sunning to the boards where the dust jacket loss has exposed them to sunlight. Interior is clean and unmarked save for dated gift inscription on the front free end paper. Binding solid and tight. Dust jacket is fair with some loss to the top and, more extensively, the base of the spine. Jacket is now wrapped in protective Brodart cover.
