Undated (presumably 1950) first Canadian edition of Lagerkvist's classic novel. Translated by Alan Blair with a preface by Lucien Maury and a letter by André Gide. Copy is in very good condition. Absolutely minimal wear to the green cloth boards. Interior is clean and unmarked save for former owner's signature on front free end paper. Dust jacket is good with some fading as well as a couple of chips to the top edge. Now wrapped in protective plastic cover.
