Early Grosset & Dunlap printing of James' classic Western. Copyright date is listed as 1929, but this would be for the first edition published by Scribner's. This printing undated, but presumably mid- to late fifties (inscription on free front end paper is dated Christmas 1959). Copy is in very good condition. Absolutely minimal wear to the khaki cloth boards with cow skull decoration. Interior is clean and unmarked save for aforementioned inscription in neat gold ink on front free end paper. Binding solid and tight. Dust jacket is very good also. Price clipping to front flap. Now wrapped in protective Brodart jacket cover.
