Educational booklet ostensibly aimed at teaching Cree children English. No author or publication information. Undated, but presumed to be late 19th Century (online sources tend to place the book between 1870 and 1890). Copy is in fair to good condition. Some wear and soiling to the maroon cloth covers. Gilt text still bright. A bit of moisture damage and front and rear of the book -- maroon colouring has bled through to the end papers -- but the interior of the book is largely unblemished. No markings to the interior save for a stamp marked "Dec" on front free end paper and former bookseller's sticker on front inside board. A fascinating historical document.
