Handsomely printed antique history of Nova Scotia's Cape Breton Island, focusing largely on the development of the island's resources in the wake of European colonisation. Profusely illustrated throughout, mostly in black and white with one or two coloured plates. Copy is in very good condition. Some edge wear to the blue cloth boards, more prominently at the top and the base of the spine. Former owner's name on sticker affixed to front free end paper, dated Christmas 1908.
