Novelist Vachell's account of life in California at the turn of the twentieth century. Copy is in good+ condition, Ex-library, but with minimal markings: what appears to be marks from removed stickers on spine and faint, white writing. Library slip neatly pasted on inside cover. Interior is otherwise completely unnmarked. Some general wear to the red cloth boards. Gilt text still bright on cover, save for portion of titular "L" which has removed. Spine slightly faded. Binding still good, although the rear hinge is slightly cracked.
