Handsome antique travelogue description of the Eastern Orthodox monastery on the Greek mountain of Athos. Illustrated throughout with black and white engravings from the author's photographs. Copy is in good condition. Some wear to the burgundy cloth boards. Fraying at the top of the spine. Gilt text on cover and spine still bright. Interior is clean and unmarked save for former owner's name and address neatly pasted on front end paper (also a dark pen mark there). Another former owner's name neatly inked on title page. Hinges visible in a couple of places, but the binding is still solid and secure. Due to the size and weight of this book, additional shipping charges will be required.
