Later reprint of No. 218 in Oxford University Press' Early English Text Society Series. The anonymously written classic of Middle English mysticism is presented in its original Middle English along with another, similar work, putatively by the same unknown author. Edited and with extensive notes by Phyllis Hodgson. Copy is in very good condition. Minimal wear to the brown cloth boards. A bit of bumping to the bottom edges. Gilt decoration and text on cover and spine still bright. Binding is solid and square. No dust jacket, as issued. A very handsome scholarly edition of a fascinating medieval work.
